STEM Innovators Conference honors Kennesaw State student Tahir Upshaw

Kennesaw State student Tahir Upshaw of Lithonia was honored recently for outstanding research at the STEM Innovators Conference in Savannah, Ga. Upshaw is a Peach State Louis Stokes Alliance Minority Participation (LSAMP) Scholar.

There are currently more than 50 LSAMP Scholars at Kennesaw State. The LSAMP initiative is designed to improve minority participation and success in undergraduate and graduate science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) degree programs.

With a recent grant from the National Science Foundation, LSAMP Scholars conducted cutting-edge research with top engineers and scientists and presented their work at the STEM Innovators Conference.
