Kennesaw State University congratulates the nearly 6,800 Owls named to the University's Dean's List, which recognizes students for their academic achievement during the Spring 2022 semester. Undergraduate students enrolled in at least nine credit hours and with a grade point average of at least 3.5 were named to the list.

Kennesaw State University has named nearly 5,000 students to the President's List in recognition of their academic excellence for the Spring 2022 semester. To achieve this honor, each undergraduate student must have completed at least nine semester hours with a term grade point average of 4.0.

April Breedlove's passion for computers and coding, combined with her fierce perseverance, has earned her a prestigious internship at Disney World this summer. Breedlove, a junior majoring in computer science, will work as a software engineering intern with Walt Disney Attractions Technology.

Kennesaw State University's chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) hosted a networking panel for students at the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Georgia annual conference. The session hosted by KSU guided public relations students in creating a personal introduction that makes a strong impression in networking situations and job interviews.

The Kennesaw State University Adobe Creative Jam brought together hundreds of students in dozens of disciplines during March to create videos illustrating how their experiences at KSU have helped them grow. Two Master of Arts in Professional Writing students at Kennesaw State University have won national honors for their creative writing and composition and rhetoric. Tyra Douyon won the Tin House Young Adult Workshop award, and Haley Hamilton had a proposal accepted for the Conference on College Composition and Communication.

Knowing that about herself, she planned to become a nurse, but later decided she could help more people through a career in human services. Boren Fellowship
Kennesaw State University graduate student Gabrielle Pajak has been awarded a Boren Fellowship to study in Jordan, providing another step toward a career she plans related to human rights issues. Pajak, who is pursuing a Master of Science in International Policy Management (MSIPM) from Kennesaw State, will learn Arabic at a language institute during 11 months in Jordan, starting in January 2022. Boren Awards focus on geographic areas, languages and fields of study that are critical to United States interests and underrepresented in study abroad, and Pajak chose to conduct hers in Jordan because of her interest in the country's high number of refugees who have fled from Syria's ongoing civil war.

KSU alumna selected to present virtually at Posters on the Hill
KENNESAW, Ga. (April 20, 2020) - Computational mathematics graduate Kara Heller hopes to make the world a greener place as she presents her research on electric vehicles and energy conservation to U.S. legislators at the Posters on the Hill on April 21. This is the third consecutive year a Kennesaw State University student has been chosen to participate in the national event that will take place virtually amid the current public health concerns.

Students depict diversity through art
To best depict what diversity looks like through art, students in Kennesaw State's College of the Arts created art pieces as part of the inaugural Diversity Arts Competition and Show, sponsored by the Office of Diversity and Inclusion. Student artists competed for votes from the campus community, and six winners - two for first, second and third place - were selected. Britt Pickering, a Kennesaw State University sociology student, was named a 2018 Newman Civic Fellow by Campus Compact, a Boston-based nonprofit working to advance the public purposes of higher education. Pickering was among 268 college students named this year and the only one from Kennesaw State.
